John Grindrod

Managing Director

I’m the Founder and Director of Functional Training Company Ltd (FTC), which I established in December 2012 after leaving the Royal Air Force, following 22 years of service as a Physical Training Instructor and Specialist Joint Service Exercise Rehabilitation Instructor.

FTC was founded with one simple aim: to provide fitness for all. Our mantra is “Affordable Excellence” — because excellence isn’t a vague aspiration; it’s a mandatory requirement.

That principle has shaped everything we do at FTC: delivering high-quality training, facilities and support while making fitness accessible to everyone.

Hi, I’m the Operations Manager and Co-Founder of FTC, and I’m proud to be involved in the day-to-day running of the club.

I oversee all of our membership plans, including individual and corporate memberships, as well as accounts, invoicing, budgeting and our ClubRight management system. I’m also involved in many other areas behind the scenes to help ensure everything runs smoothly for our members.

Car Parking

We have onsite parking available free of charge for a maximum of 3 hrs, please remember to enter your registration number into the tablet upon arrival. There is also on street parking available all day.

Please do not park in any of our neighbouring businesses car parks without permission.
