1. General Provisions
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all members (“Members”) and visitors who use FTC Gym Ipswich (“FTC Gym”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
By accessing or using FTC Gym’s facilities, Members and visitors agree to comply with these Terms, all reasonable gym rules, and any applicable health and safety instructions provided by gym staff or displayed on the premises. Membership Terms and Conditions.
By ticking the relevant tick box during sign-up (which contains a link to these Terms and Conditions) you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not proceed with registration or use the facilities.
Depending on the circumstances and subject to applicable law, a breach of these Terms may result in restricted access, removal from the premises, suspension or termination of membership. FTC Gym may make reasonable changes to these Terms and will provide any notice required by law where a change affects a Member’s contractual rights or obligations.
Members should check the current version of these Terms regularly. If you do not agree to any updated Terms, you must stop using the facilities and contact us regarding your membership.
Unless these Terms specify otherwise, membership correspondence, including cancellation requests and complaints, must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
If we do not immediately enforce a provision, we may still enforce it later. If any provision is unlawful, invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
These Terms must be read with the Member’s individual membership agreement, any membership-specific conditions, the gym’s health and safety procedures and the relevant privacy notice. Mandatory statutory rights prevail over any conflicting provision. Legal proceedings relating to these Terms will be subject to applicable law and jurisdiction, without removing any mandatory consumer rights.
2. Membership, eligibility and access

2.2. Members must:
Be at least 16 years old. Proof of age may be requested.

2.9. Members must enter and leave through the designated main entrance. External doors must not be opened for access or exit except in an emergency. Members may request a membership freeze by writing to [email protected]. A freeze:
May last for a maximum of six months.

Protects the Member’s existing membership price against increases during the approved freeze period.
A freeze takes effect only when confirmed by FTC Gym. Outstanding payments must be dealt with in accordance with the membership agreement.
3. Opening hours, staffed access and unstaffed access
3.1. FTC Gym operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for 362 days each year. The gym is closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

3.3. Temporary closures or reduced opening hours may be necessary for operational, safety or other reasons beyond our reasonable control, including fire, epidemics, pandemics, industrial action or instructions from public authorities. Members’ rights to refunds, extensions or other remedies will be determined by the membership agreement and applicable law. Any discretionary extension will be offered at FTC Gym’s discretion.
3.4. Unstaffed-hours access is available only to eligible Members who have completed the required access checks and attended a visit during staffed hours to receive the relevant instructions. The minimum age for using the facilities during unstaffed hours is 16.
3.5. Before using the gym during unstaffed hours for the first time, Members must attend during staffed hours so that FTC Gym can verify their access credentials, explain the relevant procedures and answer questions.
3.6. Members using the gym during unstaffed hours must ensure that the main entrance closes securely behind them. Only one person may pass through the speed gate at a time, with Members leaving the gym having priority.

3.10. Emergency procedures during unstaffed hours
Six emergency panic buttons are provided throughout the gym. Activating a panic button alerts the monitoring company and the designated on-call staff member. CCTV may be reviewed remotely and appropriate assistance arranged.
Panic buttons must be used only in a genuine emergency. Deliberate misuse may result in suspension or termination, subject to the circumstances and applicable law.
The panic buttons are located as follows:
Panic button 1: By the defibrillator in the main corridor near the speed gate.
Panic button 2: At the bottom of the main stairs, by the fire exit in the pin-select area.

7. Personal training and filming
7.1. Only qualified Personal Trainers (“PTs”) who have entered into an appropriate agreement with FTC Gym and paid the applicable rental or licensing fees may provide personal training services on the premises.

7.3. Members and session-pass visitors must not provide personal training without the express written consent of the Director of FTC Ltd. Anyone providing unauthorised personal training must stop immediately when instructed.
7.4. Continued unauthorised personal training may result in removal from the premises, a proportionate restriction on future access, or suspension or termination of membership where justified under the membership agreement and applicable law.
7.5. Online Personal Trainers must not film or produce content at FTC Gym unless they have:
Entered into a written agreement with FTC Ltd.
Paid the applicable monthly licensing fee.

9.7. FTC Gym may revise membership fees after any initial fixed term, subject to the membership agreement, appropriate notice and applicable consumer law.

9.9. Requesting deletion of your account through the ClubRight app does not cancel the membership. Account deletion requests and membership cancellations are separate processes.
10. Cancellation, refunds and payment disputes
10.1. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to [email protected]. Verbal cancellation requests will not be accepted.
10.2. Members must provide at least 30 days’ written notice to cancel their membership, unless a different cancellation period or right applies under the membership agreement or applicable law. The 30-day notice period begins on the date FTC Gym receives the written cancellation request.
10.3. Members should retain a copy of their cancellation email and any acknowledgement. Subject to statutory rights, FTC Gym will use the date the request is received to determine the applicable notice period.
10.4. Where the membership agreement provides an initial 14-day cancellation period, the request must be submitted in writing within that period. If the Member has used the facilities during that period no refund is due and will be determined in accordance with applicable consumer law, including the rules governing services supplied during a cancellation period.
10.5. After any applicable initial cancellation period, or minimum contract period, Members may cancel by giving at least 30 days’ written notice to [email protected]. Membership fees remain payable during the notice period, and the membership will remain active until the cancellation date unless otherwise agreed in writing or required by law.
10.6. Flexible rolling memberships may be cancelled using the same procedure and 30-day written notice period, subject to any specific terms agreed when purchased.
10.7. Membership fees already paid are not automatically refundable merely because a Member has not attended or used the facilities. Refunds will be assessed in accordance with the membership agreement and applicable law.
10.8. FTC Gym may consider early termination in exceptional circumstances, including long-term illness, injury, pregnancy or a change of residence of 25 miles or more from FTC Gym. Requests must be submitted in writing with appropriate evidence, such as a medical certificate or confirmation of the new address.
10.9. Any discretionary early termination or refund will be assessed individually. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts statutory rights.
10.10. Cancellation cannot be completed until outstanding sums properly due under the membership agreement have been addressed. Disputed sums will be dealt with in accordance with applicable law and the relevant dispute resolution procedures.
10.11. Members who enter into a fixed-term or contracted membership are expected to comply with the agreed term and payment obligations, subject to contractual cancellation rights and applicable law. If a Member seeks early termination or defaults on payments, FTC Gym may take appropriate lawful action under the membership agreement. Any restriction on future membership will be lawful, fair and consistent with consumer rights.
10.12. Members who do not recognise or wish to dispute a payment should contact [email protected] so that FTC Gym can investigate it. Where appropriate, we will arrange a refund or correction.
10.13. A chargeback may automatically result in a ban where the Member is exercising legitimate payment dispute rights or statutory protections. Any action taken in response to a chargeback will be lawful, fair and proportionate.
